Metabolic Function

Your emotional responses are directly reflective of your brain function. Neurons in your brain need three things to function appropriately: oxygen, glucose, and activation. Metabolism involves your neuron’s ability to burn glucose in an oxygen-rich environment to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the molecule that powers reactions in your brain and body. Inefficient or impaired metabolic function leads directly to inefficient neurological function, and inevitably constrains your ability to cope with the stresses of your life.

We address the relevant metabolic aspects of your framework via laboratory testing. When appropriate, we assess all of the factors that can be contributing to metabolic problems, including inflammation, blood flow, glucose, oxygenation, hormones, and other underlying pathologies. We intervene where needed on whatever level is necessary, using the best of both medication and functional medicine.
